Eight-year old Shasta Groene has been found - alive and well in a Denny's Restaurant. A waitress recognized her immediately, asked if she was Shasta, and remained calm after calling police.
Nine-year old Dylan remains missing at this time. He was not at the restaurant with Shasta.
Registered sex offender Joseph Edward Duncan III was arrested and charged with kidnapping. Thank god they nabbed him, but the question must be asked: Why was he ever set free to begin with? Police considered him likely to reoffend.
Now, a mother, her boyfriend, and an older brother are all dead. Shasta and Dylan have suffered the trauma of losing their family, being snatched from their home, and (most likely) sexually abused. Did Joseph Edward Duncan III commit the murders? Nobody has said. But I have no doubts he kidnapped Shasta and Dylan.
I hope police find Dylan soon.
